Luncheon and Flowers

I finally got out of the house today, after being cooped up since last Wednesday. One of my co-workers, Stephanie, just finished her undergrad in Early Childhood Education, so today we met at The Pizza Villa to celebrate. She was totally surprised, and a little embarrassed because their was a picture of her on the front door of the restaurant. After getting over the initial shock of the entire restaurant knowing she was there, we had a great time. She received a lot of fun stuff that she can use during her spare time, since she will not be doing school work all the time! Congratulations Stephanie...we are so proud of you!!

Here is the picture of her cake...it was soo good!
The girls and some others from our Kinston office went in together and gave me a geranium plant. It is sooo pretty. Thanks for thinking of me during my recovery time. Can't wait to be back to work on Monday!!
Here is my plant!
I put it in front of my house...here is how it looks!
What a great Friday I had. Hope you all have a great weekend!!

Snail and The Blind Side

Last Friday my Mema and Big, my mom's parents, came to spend the day with me. With me just having my appendix taken out that Wednesday, I couldn't do much for myself, so my family was always here to take care of me. At lunch time Allyson Lake and Brad came over, so Mema and Big went out for lunch. They went to eat at Parker's BBQ and then took a quick stop to Lowes. When they came back, Mema had gotten me a snail for only $1.00. I put him in my front flower bed.

Here is what he looked like before.
With him being black, he was very hard to see, so I spray painted him yellow!!
Here he is now!
Now it's a lot easier to see him...he stands out!

Tonight Brad and I watched...
Oh my goodness....such a good movie.
I know we are a couple of months behind schedule, but neither one of us are much of movie watchers. I have a hard time sitting down for a couple of hours to watch a movie, but this one definitely kept my attention. After the movie was over, I asked Brad if he liked it...he said it was alright. I was like oh gosh, I thought it was sooo good. Come to find out, he liked the movie, but said it was sad that there are still other children out there who are having to deal with such a hard home life. I think those of us who are very fortunate to have a great home life, take so much for granted. This is a great movie to make you appreciate what you do have, because there are so many people out there who are less fortunate than we are!!

So What Have I Been Up To?!?

Well, last Wednesday morning about 4:00 I woke up with a terrible pain on my left side. I didn't know what was going on. Finally at 6:00, I called my mom and told her something was wrong. After going to Urgent Care and then to have a CT Scan, it was confirmed that I had appendicitis. This is definitely far from what I thought was going on. Soon after my results were read, I was shipped to the ER for Emergency Surgery to have my appendix removed.

I had to stay in the hospital Wednesday night, which wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, and then I was able to come home early Thursday morning. I have been home ever since. I am not able to drive, so I have been stuck inside for almost a week. I have gotten out just a couple of times, but not much! Hopefully I will be back to work soon. Thanks to all of you who have taken care of me, and come by to visit...ya'll have made my stay at home much easier than what I thought it would be like.

Hope you all are having a great week!!

The Masters

Well, I am sure that most of you know that The Masters was on this weekend. I normally do not get into golf, but Brad has talked so much about Phil Mickelson that I wanted to see if he would win today... and he did!!! I was so excited. I knew that over the past year he has had a lot going on at home with his wife and mom being diagnosed with breast cancer, so that just made me want him to win even more.

Him hugging his caddy after his win. Giving his wife a hug!
I was on the phone with Brad when this part was showing on tv, and I had the biggest lump in my throat and tear filled eyes.
Phil in his 3rd Green Jacket!!
Did any of you watch The Masters? If so, who were you cheering for?!?

Happy Easter!!!

Yesterday we headed to the beach for Easter. My dad just got a place in Atlantic Beach, so we thought it would be fun to all go down there for the weekend. What a gorgeous weekend to be at the beach. I hated that we didn't make it to church for the Easter Service, but while sitting on the top deck looking at this wonderful world that was created for us all, I was reminded of the true meaning of Easter. We definitely serve an awesome God!!! Here are some pictures from this weekend.
This is the new beach home!

Wilmington

Today Aunt Allyson, Allyson Lake and I headed to Wilmington to see Blair. Allyson Lake had not met Blair yet, and Aunt Al and I were dying to see her. She is now 5 weeks old, today, and is getting so big!! Here are some pictures of Miss Pris today. She is so sweet, I could have brought her home with me!
